The Swedish Transport Administration requests quality assurance of intersections that havebeen safety classified in the region of Gotland according to the latest method. In connection withthis, proposals for action are drawn up for intersections that are considered to be of high priority.Effects are calculated and analyzed in order to find out which measure is most suitable from aroad safety perspective, and at the same time work in accordance with the goal of vision zero.The study has been based on literature studies, interviews and discussions with key people inthe industry as well as analyzes and observations in NVDB, PMSv3 and Trafikflödeskartan. Thetheoretical accident risk has been calculated using TS-EVA, which has been a central parameterin prioritizing intersections to fix. Analyzes and observations are then included in thedevelopment of the proposed measures.The results show that the completed classification has certain shortcomings due to incorrectcoding in the NVDB database, which means that the intersections can be misclassified. Overall,the model and method are judged to work well and provide a clear picture of the different safetyclasses of intersections. Being able to easily locate intersections with a higher risk of injury is agood and effective way to work towards a safer traffic environment.
