Nos últimos anos, observamos a ascensão de atores autoritário-populistas tanto em democracias consolidadas quanto naquelas ainda não bem estabelecidas. Neste artigo, analisamos se o aumento da insatisfação política explica o crescimento do apoio político ao autoritarismo-populista na América do Sul e na Europa. Nossa hipótese é que um ambiente de insatisfação política explica o fenômeno. Analisamos os casos da Alemanha, Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Espanha e Holanda. Utilizamos dados do World Values Survey e dos resultados eleitorais de 2005 a 2019.
