Human rights for refugees has proven to be incredibly hard to protect. The problem lies with the fact that it is the individual State that in practise will protect and guarantee human rights. However, states tend to only protect the rights of their own citizens. As refugees often have left the country where they are citizens and are currently residing in a country where they are not, they find themself in a legal limbo, making them one of the world's most vulnerable groups.
