Arbetsrelaterad stress för nyexaminerade röntgensjuksköterskor : En kvalitativ intervjustudie

Background: Work-related stress has been recognized as a challenge and can lead to emotional, physical and psychological effects. Healthcare professionals are often exposed to work-related stress and newly trained radiographers are no exception. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe how newly graduated radiographers in a hospital perceive stress in the workplace. The study aims to identify factors that affect the newly trained radiographer stress and to find factors that can help reduce their stress levels. Method: The study was conducted through a qualitative method in the form of interviews with ten newly trained radiographers in different radiology departments at the hospital Results: Newly trained radiographers experience a number of work-related stressors and the stressors differ depending on the modality in which they work. The results highlight stress factors that affect newly trained radiographers at the beginning of employment. The most prominent stressors were related to lack of experience and personal, high workload and colleagues leading to various symptoms such as fatigue, headaches and stomach problems. This could be facilitated by good training, work alongside and support from their experience colleagues, more support and hiring more staff. Conclusion: Newly graduated radiographers can be affected by stress in different ways. Lack of experience and personal, high workload and colleagues were the biggest factors that influenced newly graduated radiographers. This could be facilitated with the help of good training, double staff, more support and hiring more staff
