The speed estimation method is used in order to eliminate the mechanical sensor for measuring the rotating speed of the permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) which is applied in the standalone generating system, a sensorless method is presented in this paper. The speed is estimated based on the model reference adaptive system (MRAS). The proposed system contains a wind turbine, boost converter followed by uncontrolled rectifier, PMSG, battery storage system, bidirectional converter, three-phase inverter, filter, and three-phase load.
