Estado y municipio malagueño en el siglo XVII: aspectos militares

It is the aim of the present article to deal with the analysis of the existing tensions between the Monarchy and the Town Council of Málaga in the 16th century as a substantial part of the struggle for social and political power that characterized the birth and consolidation of the Modern State. Special attention will be paid to those aspects regarding the defence of the city and the kingdom and the North African expansion, together with a detailed examination of the human and material contribution provided by the military suppon from Málaga to the Absolutist State.Como un aspecto sustancial en el contexto de la lucha por el control del poder político y social que caracterizó el nacimiento y la consolidación del Estado Moderno, el presente articulo aborda las tensas relaciones entre la Monarquía y el Municipio Malagueño durante el siglo XVI, analizando, específicamente, los aspectos relativos a la defensa de la ciudad, del Reino y de la expansión norteafricana, con el correlato de solicitudes y aportaciones humanas y materiales que conformaron la contribución militar malacitana al Estado Absoluto
