ANALISIS KELAYAKAN USAHA DAN PEMASARAN HASIL DURIAN (Durio zibethinus Murray) DI KABUPATEN PALOPO SULAWESI SELATAN

Durian (Durio zibethinus Murray) is a commodity fruits included in horticulture has a high economic value. Demand of durian both to be consumed and processed as dampuk in each season is increasing. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of farming and marketing of durian in Kota Palopo. The survey was conducted in Palopo City in May to December 2010. The results showed that the human resources of agribusiness commodities have the potential on farm characteristics and traders. The application of commodity production technologies is still unintensive due to the unqualified of seed. Durian farming in Palopo City is very beneficial (IRR = 28.44%) with plant economic life of 15 years. The market of Palopo durian are Palopo market town, Makassar, and the outside of the district/ province/island
