There are now problematic changes in children\u27s eating patterns, for example, irregular meal patterns and inadequate food intake. We investigated the actual conditions and the students\u27 knowledge of the net weight of foods, food intake for health control. meal management, and cooking. The subjects were 34 elementary school children. The data were collected using questionnaires. We examined the children\u27 s ability to judge the net weight of eight foods (egg, miso, milk, tomato, garden lettuce, potato, rice, mayonnaise) by eye-measuring (mebakari) and hand-measuring (tebakari).
