The purpose of this paper is to show what marriage problems are emerging in Japanese rural families and rural communities and how the marriage problem influences the succession of rural families and subsistence of rural communities, through the survey of rural community. As a result 1.The number of middle-age men who cannot marry have been in rural communities. Their lives might become unstable. 2.It is necessary to regard the woman and the grandchild as a successor to sustain the rural community. 3.To discuss their future with living-apart adult children is necessary to sustain the rural community
