Production of Database Related to River Environment and Dissemination for Sound and Sustainable Development

In order to attain a sound and sustainable water environment, people\u27s participation seems to be indispensable. For completing the backgrounds for the disaster prevention and/or mitigation, it is well known that both of the structural and non-structural schemes of policy become necessary. Regarding the accomplishment of desirable water environment, its situation is similar to the above-mentioned one. People have to be more and more concerned about their surroundings. In this paper, some discussion will be done for establishing the database of water environment in and around the rivers. As is well understood, for the prescribed purpose school and social education becomes important. At the same time, materials instructive for promoting the environmental consciousness and activity become necessary. Proposed database system in this paper suggests that accumulation of data becomes possible to judge a rank of water quality based on a biological viewpoint after an input of observed data. We really hope that a desirable water environment will smoothly be pursued, for example supported by this database system
