Cortactin, an F-actin binding protein, stabilizes F-actin networks and promotes actin polymerization by activating the Arp2/3 complex. Overexpression of cortactin has been reported in several human cancers. Cortactin stimulates cell migration, invasion, and experimental metastasis.
