Volcano Unzen is located at the center of Shimabara Peninsula, western Kyushu, Japan. It erupted in November 1990 after a 198-year dormant period since the 1792 eruption. The volcanic activity has continued until 1995, and badly damaged plant and animal life of Mt. Fugen-dake, the central cone of the volcano. The present paper is a list of plant specimens collected by the late Saburo TOYAMA (1902-1986), Professor of Botany at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and his students, during the period of 1920\u27-1970\u27s, from every corner of the Unzen area before the 1990 eruption. The list enumerates 1386 specimens and 406 species, consisting of 371 spermatophytes and 35 pteridophytes
