The yellowtail culture in Korea started in early 1980 and recently culture of fish, sea bass, rock fish, red sea bream, puffer fish and other fishes have been developed. However, like any other industries without an exception, Korean fish culture also began with the trial and error method during its development. Korean finfish culture is faced with various problems such as fishing ground, information on marketing, capital, and techniques. The first reason is why the water temperature in most of the areas used for the fish culture is lower than that in Japan. Hence, it is difficult to culture them in winters as compared to Japan. The second reason is why the information of marketing system is limited. The Korean finfish culture techniques were introduced from Japan purposing to export its fishery products. The Korean people adopted the Japanese aquaculture techniques without doing analysis of its situation. The last reason is why the investement and techniques are limited. It is difficult for the individual fishermen to invest for the construction of aquaculture facilities and for the development of aquaculture technology. Due to the existing problems that beset the fish culture sector, firstly it is necessary to convert current species into the new species adaptable to the Korean conditions. Studies on the development of techniques on seeding culture, feed formulation and diseases should be given an emphasis. At the same time, Korea need skilled technical manpower to apply the development of different country\u27s aquacultural techniques suitable for the domestic situation. Secondly the capitalistic management system should be introduced in order to achieve the development of the aquaculture industry. Under the capitalistic economy, that is an inevitable to maintain and develop as a growing industry in the international society.
