As information becomes more ubiquitous than ever before, understanding the what, how, and why of farmers\u27 information search strategies becomes more important to Extension professionals. Based on a mail survey of farmers in Ohio, the study reported here examined farmers\u27 informational needs and identified factors that influence farmers\u27 information choices. Specifically, the results highlight the differences in farmers\u27 search strategies regarding type, amount, and sources of information. Findings show farmers practiced high-, moderate-, and low-search strategies to stay current on topics important to their farm business. The implications for Extension professionals are discussed
