This Master’s thesis pertains the study of the electrical and photoelectrical characteristics of two-dimensional materials van der Waals heterostructures, based on tungsten disulfide. The aim of the second material in the heterostructure, namely hexagonal boron nitride or graphene, is the lowering of the Schottky contact barrier. The materials were synthesized through scalable chemical vapor deposition processes and the fabrication of contacts was made with electron beam lithography and lift-off. Raman and atomic force microscopy characterization were also performed, in order to assess the quality of the materials. Finally, a relevant part of my work relates the design and construction of a flexible optical setup for photoelectrical measure...
