Dopamiinil on leitud seos aktiivsus- ja tähelepanuhäire ja alkoholismiga. Dopamiini D2 retseptori (DRD2) C957T polümorfismil on leitud seos alkoholismile ja ATH-le omaste sümptomitega. Praegune uuring keskendus antud polümorfismi, ATH ja alkoholismivahelistele seostele. Alkoholismi uurimisel vaadeldi andmeid tarbimise sageduse, sõltuvuse ja kuritarvitamise kohta ning ATH uurimisel vaadeldi tähelepanematust ja hüperaktiivsust/impulsiivsust. Uuringu tulemused näitasid, et DRD2 C957T genotüübil ei tundu olevat seost ATH ja alkoholismiga. Kooskõlas varasemate uuringutega leiti ATH ja alkoholismi vahel positiivne seos ning et mehed tarbivad naistest rohkem alkoholi.
