KARAKTERISTIK SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIK BIOPLASTIK BERDASARKAN BERAT GALAKTOMANAN AMPAS KELAPA (Cocos nucifera L, ) SEBAGAI SUMBER BELAJAR BIOLOGI

There is a buildup of plastic waste which is 40% produced by household activities so that plastic is difficult to degrade by microorganisms and takes a long time. Many bioplastics have been proposed as a substitute for plastics, but the use of bioplastic raw materials comes from staple foods such as cassava peels, potatoes and other tubers. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of physical properties such as thickness and mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation of bioplastics based on the weight of galactomannan coconut pulp (Cocos nucifera L,). The research lasted for 2 months with the process of extracting and isolating galactomannan compounds in coconut pulp and making bioplastics with a variable weight of galactomannan. The type of research is experimental (true experimental research) and quantitative approach and research design in the form of The Posttest- Only Control Group Design using a control group with a weight of 10g cornstarch, 1.5ml sorbitol volume. The temperature and time of extraction as well as the volume of the solvent in the form of 50 ml of distilled water. The study design used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments with 3 replications. Collecting research data by testing the thickness to produce the average value of thickness and testing of mechanical properties. Data analysis in this study used the parametric One way ANOVA test, if the data were normal, it would be followed by a normality test using Shapiro wilk and a homogeneity test with Levene's, if the results had an effect, it would continue with Duncan's further test.
