PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH ABU CANGKANG SAWIT SEBAGAI PENGGANTI SEBAGIAN FILLER PADA CAMPURAN ASPAL JENIS HOT ROLLED SHEET (HRS) TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK MARSHAL

Oil palm plantation land in Indonesia is quite large, especially in East Kotawaringin Regency and West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. AMP (Asphalt Mixing Plant) located in Central Kalimantan Province uses palm shells as fuel so as to produce the burning ashes of palm oil shells. The accumulation of palm shell ash waste in AMP and reduce dependence on natural materials so as not to experience scarcity so that palm shell ash is used as a substitute for some fillers. As for the factor to consider using palm shell ash waste as a replacement for some fillers in road pavement due to the pozolan nature of palm shell ash, namely Silica. Silica content found in palm shell ash is more than the silica content found in Portland Cement. The use of palm shell ash as a partial replacement for fillers in HRS (Hot Rolled Sheet) asphalt mixtures has an influence on some marshall character parameters. This is shown from the results of the Marshall Test. For the type of Hot Rolled Sheet asphalt mixture with palm shell ash filler in can be the optimum palm shell ash value of 4%, by producing mixed quality: Marshall Stability Value = 2780.09 Kg, Marshall Quotient Value = 552.70 Kg / mm, Void in Mix Value = 4.44 %
