IMPLIKASI STATUS SOSIAL KELUARGA TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR MAHASISWA FAKULTAS AGAMA ISLAM UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH MALANG

This study discusses the implications of family social status on learning motivation of students of the Faculty of Islamic Religion at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This research is motivated by students who have a low social status background, have high learning motivation and enthusiasm to achieve high goals in the hope that their situation will change for the better than before. The social status of the families of students at the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) have different backgrounds. The family also plays a role in providing motivation to learn in achieving the goals that children achieve because family is the first education for a child. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. Data collection techniques in this study are interviews and observation. The results of the study describe that family social status has implications for student learning motivation, namely parental support in providing enthusiasm and encouragement to learn for their children. Support from parents can be in the form of moral and material support. Parental attention such as guidance, encouragement, advice are form of moral support. While support in the form of materials can be in the form of living expenses such as education costs and learning facilities
