PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR MENULIS KARYA ILMIAH BERBASIS PROBLEM BASED LEARNING PADA SISWA SMA THURSINA IIBS, KAB. MALANG

The aims of this study were to develop module of writing scientific article with problem based learning approached and effectiveness of the module as the teaching material product to student grade XI. As developmental research, the design development were adapted from Borg and Gall which consist of four steps such as preliminary development, product development, product trial and product revision. Preliminary development was performed by interviews, observation and literature review. Product development was carried out by compiling all teaching materials based on product specifications. The product trial was validated by expert, practitioners, and small group test which showed the assessment result of product aspects including critical thinking at 92.91%, presentation systematic at 93.12%, content at 93.55%, visualization at 91.89%, and the language at 92.91%. Product revision was conducted by improving the product based on comments and suggestions of expert, practitioners and students. In addition, the effectiveness of the product was analyzed statistically by comparing the posttest score of experimental and control class with mean value 84,77 and 74,64, respectively using independent two-sample t test, SPSS 16.0 for windows. The results showed that learning outcomes between experimental and control class was significantly different (P value, 0.000 < 0.05) implying that this module is effective to improve student learning outcomes. Together with the test results from experts, practitioners and students, the module of writing scientific article with Problem Based Learning approached is recommended to be used as learning materials in scientific writing article and effective to improve student learning outcomes
