ANALYSIS OF COLLOQUIAL WORDS FOUND ON CELEBRITY’S INSTAGRAM CAPTION

Colloquial Word is a literary device to imply using informal or everyday language in literature. Most people use colloquial on social media because it is more relaxed and simple, for example on Instagram. Instagram is a social media where users can easily share photos and videos. Instagram has several features, one of which is captions. Before uploading a photo, users can provide a caption based on the image. A caption is a short or long description that identifies an image or video on Instagram. This research concerned about the colloquial words found on celebrity’s instagram caption especially Laras Syerinita. Research problem is “What are colloquial meaning and synonym of colloquial words that are found in Laras Syerinita’s Instagram caption?”. This research implemented descriptive qualitative research by employing document analysis focuses on colloquial language found in Laras Syerinita’s Instagram caption in the form of transcribed screenshot. The results showed that there are colloquial words used by Laras Syerinita in her Instagram caption. This research gained 14 colloquial words divided by Part of Speech, 5 colloquial words are indicated as Noun, 2 colloquial words are indicated as Verb, 2 colloquial words are indicated as Pronoun, 3 colloquial words are indicated as Conjunction, 1 colloquial word is indicated as Adjective, and 1 colloquial word is indicated as Quantifier. This research data was taken from June 25, 2018 until January 2, 2021
