Agro-industrial waste as a substrate for indoor cultivation of edible mushrooms of the species pleurotus ostreatus. Mushrooms are defined as macrofungi belonging to the Fungi kingdom and phylum Basidiomycota whose main function is the decomposition of organic matter. In addition to their ecological function, these are considered as foods of high nutritional and medicinal value.
