Foreldres fordeling av omsorgsoppgaver: En kvantitativ undersøkelse om utøvelse av omsorgsoppgaver, sett i sammenheng med parforhold, sosioøkonomiske forhold og betydning av kjønn

A new phase in life begins when children become part of the family. This event often brings joy to the parents but requires adjustments, which some parents experience more demanding than others. General perception is that parents in a relationship can relieve each other compered to single parents who may have difficulty making everyday life work. The purpose of this master's thesis is to shed light on parents' distribution of primary care tasks between themselves, and whether this can be seen in connection with gender and contextual conditions. Contextual conditions reference to socio-economic factors and different aspects of the relationship. This survey is based on the data material from the LOGG study, which is a European survey based on two other surveys, "Life cycle, aging and generation" (NorLAG) and "Generations and Gender Survey" (GGS). The results from my analysis show a higher probability of sharing tasks with a partner when parents are more satisfied with their relationship and have connections outside the home, such as a workplace and/or a supportive network. Furthermore, the results show that parents who perform the care tasks on their own usually lack a positive connection outside their home and with a partner. The study's findings sheds light on different parenting practices and can be seen in connection with what can affect task organization in the home and parents general capacity. These are factors that can contribute to a circular mindset in meeting with parents
