Systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease associated with systemic involvement. Various organs including skin, kidneys, joints, heart, and central nervous system, may be affected. One of the serious organ damages in SLE is renal involvement as lupus nephritis, which occurs in 50-75% of children with SLE. Approximately 6-12% of pediatric SLE may develop other conditions, such as JIA, JDM, and polymyositis, scleroderma, and Crohn's disease.
