The Vlasov-Maxwell system with strong initial magnetic field. Part I : Guiding-center approximation

In this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of the Vlasov-Maxwell equations with strong magnetic field. More precisely we investigate the Cauchy problems associated to strong initial magnetic fields. We justify the convergence towards the so-called "guiding center approximation" when the dynamics is observed on a slower time scale than the plasma frequency.
