Indigenous participation in the design and implementation of transitional justice is key to achieving peace and fulfilling the guarantees of non-repetition. The works of Cederman, Gleditsch and Wucherpfennig on ethnic conflicts for self-determination show that the recognition of political rights for indigenous peoples is a solution.
