International audienceMeasurements of sea surface temperatures (SST) in the Gulf of Lions, obtained by the satellite “NOAA 4” sensor VHRR and by the airborne radiometer “Aries”, are presented and compared. The results reveal the reliability of the VHRR data in the range 16-20.5°C, the degree of accuracy being within 0.5°C of the relative temperatures, despite a malfunctioning of the “NOAA 4” VHRR
