This document is a review of articles on critical thinking and video games in basic high school students, which corresponds to the first phase of the drawing of a doctoral thesis in education sciences. It arises as a research problem, given the current situation in Colombia and Latin America related to the different pre-pandemic and post-pandemic social outbreaks and the result of the anti-corruption consultation and the plebiscite for peace, to determine how it is possible from the design of a roles video game, related to the context, to develop critical thinking in ninth grade students of Colegio Cundinamarca located in Bogotá, and contribute to education for peace.
