During this work a multitude of novel ditopic ligands (bis(amidine)s, bis(guanidine)s and bis(amidoamine)s) have been introduced. They were further converted with various metal precursors (magnesium, aluminium, zinc and tin) and the resulting mononuclear as well as dinuclear complexes have been fully characterized.
