The objective of this research was to illustrate about the possibility of the application of variables of participation in the evaluation of rural buildings related projects as a tool for socio-economic development in the forests of the south in the Mata region (PE). The methodology adopted consisted of a literature search in scientific books and on the internet about rural areas, development and / or the analysis constructions projects based on socioeconomic variables.
