Nuestro objetivo fue describir el nivel de desarrollo de la lateralidad en los niños y niñas de la l.E.I Nº288 del distrito de Rioja en el año 2010, que en su totalidad contaron con 5 años de edad en un número de 23 integrantes de la población válida para dicha institución. La investigación se ajustó a un diseño descriptivo simple, teniendo como soporte una ficha de observación para la verificación de los datos, el que se aplicó por dos veces consecutivas. El procesamiento de datos se limitó a una sumatoria simple de las frecuencias observadas en todos los indicadores evaluados, recurriendo al cálculo de la media aritmética para asumir la prueba de la hipótesis con lo que se logró demostrar que existe un nivel alto nivel de desarrollo de la lateralidad en los niños y niñas de 5 años de edad de la l.E.1 Nº 288 del distrito de Rioja en el año 201 O.
