The present work was carried out with the objective of determining the crop medium for the multiplication of Cattleya rex O'Brien as an alternative for low propagation in a temporary immersion system. Seedlings previously established in M and S medium (Murashige and Skoog, 1962) supplemented with thiamine 0.1 mlL-1, 0.5 mlL-1 nicotinic acid, 20 gL-1 sucrose and coconut liquid endosperm 200mlL-1 were used. The temporary immersion System consisted of two glass flasks of 1000 ml capacity, one for the growth of the seedling, and the other as a reservoir of the crop medium; these vials were connected by a silicone hose and hydrophobic filters of 0.22 μM were placed. The crop medium circulated from one bottle to another by the opening ...
