Estimación del potencial de captura de carbono, del bosque natural secundario en el centro de producción e investigación Pabloyacu

This research project has information that is handled for basic reference and other purposes, on the estimation of carbon sequestration in the natural forest secondary. It is very important the result; since it can 'be work future projects to the decrease of atmospheric concentrations through the capture of atmospheric carbon (absorption by natural stores). Our region has the highest rate of deforestation at the national leve! by releasing enormous amounts of carbon dioxide which are leading to changes in climate and environmental quality. lt is therefore very important that the research was conducted in the Pabloyacu Research and Production Center , there are initiatives both of teachers as professionals and graduates students in conductii1g research in that place. The entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol and the clean development mechanism opens up the prospect for the forestry producers to capture financia! benefits from the sequestration services that offer their activities. This is possible thanks to the fact that forestry projects that apply successfully to the MLD may generate emissions reduction certificates that can be marketed. (Alegre et a/1998). The carbon sequestration potential in the Secondary Natural Forest belongs to the "Pabloyacu" Research and Production Center at the Ecology Faculty is approximately 4,818 ton. /Ha of Carbon result that was worked by the non-destructive method in one hectare of study. This work seelcs to worry various interests including foray into the business of carbon credits in the long term.Este Proyecto de investigación tiene información que se maneja para referencia básica y otros fines, sobre la estimación de captura de carbono en el bosque natural secundario. Es muy importante el resultado; ya que se puede trabajar futuros proyectos que tengan como fin la disminución de las concentraciones atmosféricas a través de la captura de carbono atmosférico (absorción por almacenes naturales). Nuestra región posee la tasa más alta de deforestación a nivel nacional liberando enormes cantidades de dióxido de carbono los cuales están generando can1bios en el clima y la calidad ambiental. Por ello es muy importante la investigación que se realizó en el Centro de Producción e Investigación Pabloyacu, hay iniciativas tanto de docentes como de profesionales egresados y alumnos en realizar investigación en dicho lugar. La entrada en v1gencta el Protocolo de Kyoto y su mecanismo de desarrollo limpio abren la perspectiva para los productores forestales de captar beneficios financieros provenientes de los servicios de fijación de carbono que ofrecen sus actividades. Esto se hace posible gracias a que los proyectos forestales que apliquen exitosame11te al MLD podrán generar cettificados de reducción de emisiones que podrán ser comercializados. (Alegre et al. 1998). El Potencial de Captura de Carbono en el Bosque Natural Secundario del Centro de Investigación y Producción "Pabloyacu" de la Facultad de Ecología es aproximadamente de 4.818 Ton./Ha. de Carbono resultado que fue trabajado por el método no destructivo en una hectárea de estudio. Con este trabajo se pretende inquietar diversos intereses entre ellos incursionar en el negocio de los créditos de carbono a largo plazo
