EL ALUMNADO DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE EXTREMADURA. UNA PERSPECTIVA DE GÉNERO

The historic events that have been a part of University of Extremadura from its creation, have also been a permanent characteristic along its life. In this period of time we have seen growing of titles and schools, and also of people in the community (professors, alumni and administrative and services personnel). Nevertheless, all the changes along these times, including a greater participation of women in the university life, still keep structural and hierarchical differences in career election by these women. So that we still can speak in this university of mal e and female rolls when selecting studies, in other words, typically male or typically female careers. A simple look at the statistics offered along this work demonstrates that e11gi11eering studies are still being selected by a smaller number of women than men do.Los avatares históricos que han acompañado a la Universidad de Extremadura desde su creación, han sido una constante en sus años de vida. A lo largo de este periodo, hemos visto incrementarse poco a poco el número de centros y titulaciones, así como de los miembros que forman parte de ella (profesorado, alumnado, y personal de administración y servicios). Sin embargo, pese a esa transformación sufrida que se ha traducido en una mayor participación de las mujeres en la vida universitaria, aún se mantienen diferencias estructurales y jerárquicas en cuanto a la elección de carrera se refiere. Así, todavía podemos hablar en la universidad extremeña de modelos masculinos y femeninos en la elección de carrera; o lo que es lo mismo, carreras "típicamente femeninas" o carreras "típicamente masculinas". Sólo hace falta ver las tablas estadísticas ofrecidas a lo largo de este trabajo, que demuestran que las ingenierías siguen siendo los estudios elegidos por menor número de mujeres.
