Ideologies related to Latinx identity are central to heritage language (HL) instruction (Leeman et al., 2011). However, early heritage instruction was mainly focused on acquiring the standard norm (Leeman, 2012). What are the current ideologies in both the second language (L2) and heritage Spanish language classroom?
