Alelopatia de adubos verdes sobre feijoeiro comum (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

This study aimed at evaluating the allelopathic effect of species used as cover crops in no-tillage system on common bean crop. It was conducted in the greenhouse and at the Seed Analysis Laboratory in the Agricultural Department of the Federal University of Lavras, Brazil. The cover crop species used in the experiment were sunn hemp, jack bean, pigeon pea, black oat, sorghum and millet, with and without intercropping, with their straws collected at the early grain filling stage. The aqueous extracts of 5% and 10% (w/v) obtained from those straws were placed in plastic boxes (Gerbox®-type) containing common bean seeds. The straws were also laid on the substrate surface sown with common bean in plastic pots and installed in the greenhouse for chemical and physical effects evaluation of the cover crops. Considering most of the variables studied, it was not verified any damage by either using of mulch or by applying allelopathic extracts. When used as mulch or when applied as aqueous extracts, residues from the intercropping between sunn hemp and sorghum positively affected the common bean plant, benefiting its initial growth.O objetivo, neste estudo, foi avaliar o efeito alelopático de espécies utilizadas como plantas de cobertura sobre a cultura do feijoeiro comum (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). O estudo foi realizado no Laboratório de Análise de Sementes e em casa de vegetação do Departamento de Agricultura da Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA). As espécies de plantas de cobertura foram: crotalária anagiroide (Crotalaria anagyroides L.), feijão-de-porco (Canavalia ensiformis (L.) DC), guandu-anão (Cajanus cajans (L). Millsp), aveia-preta (Avena strigosa Schieb), sorgo (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) cv. BRS 506 e milheto (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Brown) variedade BRS 1501, semeadas em cultivo exclusivo e consorciadas, e suas palhas coletadas na fase de início de enchimento de grãos. Dessas palhas foram obtidos extratos aquosos a 5% e 10% p.v., aplicados em caixas gerbox contendo sementes de feijoeiro comum. As palhas também foram depositadas sobre a superfície de substrato semeado com feijão em vasos de plástico e instalados em casa de vegetação para avaliação do efeito físico e químico das coberturas vegetais. Para a maioria das variáveis estudadas, não houve prejuízo com o uso das coberturas mortas ou com a aplicação dos extratos alelopáticos. Os resíduos provenientes do consórcio entre crotalária anagiroide e sorgo tiveram efeito benéfico para o crescimento inicial de plântulas de feijoeiro comum, quando usados como cobertura morta ou quando aplicados como extratos aquosos
