The purpose of this work was to study the effects of a magnetic field and evaporation rate during deposition on the crystal count and size of a thin film material. First, the functionality of a precision balance and the relationship between solvent evaporation rate and vapour pressure and container surface area were studied as part of the bachelor studies practise report. The functionality of a precision balance was tested by weighing a static object for three hours. Values gathered during individual time frames between calibrations were noted to be consistent.
