Were the EU’s actions in terms of refugee hosting during the 2015-2016 crisis morally acceptable? This paper describes those actions and evaluates them from the points of view of philosophers who specialize in the field of asylum ethics, such as Joseph Carens, Matthew Gibney, or David Miller, among others. First, I clarify who, according to such literature, would be entitled to refugee or refugee-like protection. Secondly, I indicate to what those persons would be entitled.
