Analysis of factors for the creation of mobile applications for the decrease of food waste

[EN] The Master thesis will address the previous analyses needed for the design and implementation of a mobile application that promotes the reduction of food waste. Through the application, restaurants and supermarkets will be able to offer quality food at a lower price, reducing the waste of food in good condition at the end of its service. At the same time, users will be able to save money and discover new flavours. The work will start with the analysis of the factors which explain success and failure and that were present in previous mobile applications. This analysis will include social, economic, demographic and technological analysis. The results will then be used to avoid failure and incorporate success factors in the creation of a mobile application for the Latin American market. A market analysis and the study of commercial partners will be carried out for two types of business models, which will be explored. The first model will be for-profit, implementing the application with a delivery service, where the profit will be a percentage to be determined for each unit purchased. The second business model will be non-profit, based on donations, creating a collection and consumption centre where low-income people can enjoy a decent meal.[ES] La tesis de maestría abordará los análisis previos necesarios para el diseño e implementación de una aplicación móvil que promueva la reducción del desperdicio de alimentos. A través de la aplicación, restaurantes y supermercados podrán ofrecer alimentos de calidad a menor precio, reduciendo el desperdicio de alimentos en buen estado al finalizar su servicio. Al mismo tiempo, los usuarios podrán ahorrar dinero y descubrir nuevos sabores. El trabajo comenzará con el análisis de los factores que explican el éxito y el fracaso y que estaban presentes en aplicaciones móviles anteriores. Este análisis incluirá análisis social, económico, demográfico y tecnológico. Luego, los resultados se utilizarán para evitar fallos e incorporar factores de éxito en la creación de una aplicación móvil para el mercado latinoamericano. Se realizará un análisis de mercado y el estudio de socios comerciales para dos tipos de modelos de negocio, que serán explorados. El primer modelo será lucrativo, implementando la aplicación con un servicio de entrega, donde la ganancia será un porcentaje a determinar por cada unidad comprada.
