Tests of the electroflocculation technique were performed on the effluent from the washing of intermodal terminal machines with iron (Fe) and aluminum (Al) electrodes to determine which electrode would have better efficiency and viability of the effluent treatment rate. For the evaluation, pH, turbidity, conductivity, alkalinity and acidity were determined. In this work a bench electrolytic reactor was used in the experimental electroflocculation unit that consists of an acrylic reactor, with a capacity of 6 liters, measuring 30 cm x 15 cm x 20 cm with a sample collection point on the bottom side.
