According to the widely spread opinion of Abrikosov : "Anchored statoblasts (sessoblasts) depend greatly on the form of the tubelets in which they are anchored and for this reason they do not have a characteristic form...", up to this day sessoblasts have been more or less neglected in determining freshwater Bryozoa, except in a few cases, whilst the importance of floatoblasts has been over estimated. In the respective literature the structure of sessoblasts is taken little account of, and there is hardly any hint to the structure of the basal part or the adhesive apparatus.
