L'information des représentants du personnel lors de l'introduction de nouvelles technologies

Having demonstrated that the strategic characteristic of information produced by research during technological changes is primarily dependent on the position within the institution and on the values held by the social partner, the author of this article proceeds to examine how employees and their representatives set about attaining the kind of strategic information covering technical, social and organizational aspects. Access to «strategic » information naturally depends on numerous factors : the existence of legal and conventional measures ; the willingness of the employees and their representatives to intervene in directing technological development within the firm, and the behaviour of the employers. A final more detailed analysis reveals strategies put into effect by the Work's Council when searching for information both pertinent and useful to their action. One method used is recourse to technico cul¬ tural media structures.Après avoir indiqué que la caractéristique stratégique de l'information recherchée lors de changements technologiques dépend avant tout du positionnement institutionnel et des valeurs défendus par les acteurs sociaux, l'auteur étudie comment les salariés et leurs représentants s'y prennent pour accéder à l'information technique, sociale et organisationnelle. L'accès à l'information «stratégique » dépend de nombreux facteurs : l'existence d'un dispositif juridique et conventionnel, la volonté des salariés et de leurs représentants d'intervenir sur les choix technologiques, et le comportement des employeurs. Enfin, l'auteur analyse les stratégies mises en œuvre par les comités d'entreprise dans la recherche d'informations pertinentes et utiles à leur action.
