The analysis of amphora from the Gourjade villa in Castres gave the first elements of reflexion on the distribution and commerce of foodstuffs in this region after the collapse of imports of Italian wines. The one thousand six hundred amphora fragments provided evidence for major imports of oil and wine from Betica. Wines from Italy, Terragona and Languedoc are rare but, on the other hand, we discerned traces of a local vinyard through the presence of Gaulish 1 amphora of a hitherto unknown Tarn type.
