The excavations made in 1994, on the lie of the Muron’s diversion (Charente-Maritime), will be the subject of two articles. This first partpresente the result about theexcavation of a diachrony necropolis, from Augustean Period to Middle Ages. Four phases of inhumations have been distinguished : child’s inhumations from Augustean Period ; a necropolis of IVecentury which some tombs gave up an important funerary set ; some inhumations of the Vie century and mediaeval sepultures whose datation is not specified. The extent of various cemeteries is unknown and any religious edifice have been excavated. The site of Muron emphasize the continuity of the funerary use of place.
