Sol Lewitt : mural drawing or the work as passage. The analysis of Four colors and all their combinations, shown at the A.R.C. in 1987, reveals the processes used by Sol Lewitt to achieve the aesthetic objectives of conceptual art. Carried out on a complex surface of 80 m2 by ten assistants using very precise preliminary sketches, four different inks and old rags for spreading them in three layers, the « drawing » is founded on a repartition of variable color plans on the disponible fields of a unique form — the trunk of a pyramid.
