Objective: The objective of this research was to investigate the in vitro antioxidant and antibacterial activities of methanol extract from the leaves of Stachytarpheta indica (L) vahl. and Premna corymbosa Rottl. Methods: The various photochemicals were analyzed according to the methods described by Allen and Harbone. The total phenolic contents were estimated by Folin–Ciocalteu method. Antioxidant activities of these plants were tested on the basis of ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethyl benzthiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) radical scavenging assay, inhibition of lipid peroxidation, Super oxide radical scavenging activity, Nitric oxide radical scavenging activity and Metal chelating activity.
