Les courants ésotériques modernes forment un aspect de l’histoire intellectuelle et culturelle des sociétés occidentales souvent mal connu. Cette thèse se propose de corriger cette lacune en étudiant l’influence de ces courants dans le champ médical en France durant l'entre-deux-guerres. Ce travail est d’abord une contribution à l’histoire de la médecine. Il défend la légitimité d’employer une étiquette commune, le holisme médical, pour étudier la médecine naturiste, l’homéopathie, les réflexothérapies et les travaux de certaines sommités du monde médical.
