L’hypertension artérielle (HTA) est l’un des principaux facteurs de risque de maladies cardiovasculaires. Elle touche près d’un adulte sur trois dans le monde et occupe la première place en termes d’années de vie en bonne santé perdues chez les femmes, et la deuxième chez les hommes derrière le tabagisme. La prévalence de l’HTA, comme l’incidence, varient entre différentes zones géographiques mais également selon le statut socioéconomique.
