Le conflit humains-faune sauvage est très fréquent en Afrique, et est amené à s’intensifier du fait de l’expansion de l’agriculture, et de la réduction et la fragmentation de l’habitat. Les pertes liées à la consommation ou dégradation des cultures créent de l’insécurité alimentaire, ce qui accroit la pauvreté et entrave le soutien local aux efforts de conservation.
