Chaque année, environ 11 millions de femmes sont exposées au paludisme gestationnel (PG) en Afrique sub-Saharienne, avec pour principales conséquences l’anémie maternelle (AM) et le faible poids de naissance du nouveau-né (FPN). L’OMS recommande, en zone de forte transmission, l’utilisation des moustiquaires imprégnées d’insecticide et un traitement préventif intermittent (TPI). Cette stratégie a permis de baisser la prévalence du PG au niveau mondial.
